FAQ - For Students and Parents

My child would like to join a school trip organized by CETA Tours. How do I get information about my child's tour?
Joining a Tour
  • Full-color brochures with the tour application will be available through your teacher.
  • Your teacher will set up an informational sign-up meeting that includes a presentation to give you a clear understanding of what to expect. You'll see pictures from past tours in the region you will be visiting, learn what's included in the tour, and how much it will cost.
  • Your teacher will collect initial deposits and applications. Once your application is processed, CETA Tours will handle all billing.
  • You will receive an Acknowledgement of Deposit with information about travel insurance options. Students and parents should review trip. Cancellation/interruption and temporary medical insurance options, which can be purchased through CETA Tours.
  • If you have already signed up for a tour, go to View my Tour to login and get information specific to your tour.
What do I need to do to help prepare my child for his/her tour abroad?

Tour Preparation
CETA Tours does absolutely everything we can to help ensure you have a fantastic trip. We do this by giving you guidelines and handbooks to help you along the way.

Student Handbook
Your teacher will distribute this handbook at a meeting. It will let you know:

  • What to pack
  • What to expect at the hotels or student centers
  • What to expect in a restaurant
  • What to expect on a typical day on tour
  • Websites of the cities and countries visited
  • Basic vocabulary frequently used on tour
  • Information about cultural differences
  • How to deal with homesickness
  • Information about getting money abroad
  • Passport application information, including information about the cost of a passport, the necessary steps and required documentation to get one.
  • Information about immunization requirements and general health precautions.

What is the payment schedule for my child's tour?

Your payments will be spread out so you will have an easier time earning the money you’ll need to pay for the tour. You will receive an Acknowledgement of Deposit when we process your application, and we’ll remind you about upcoming payments.

In order to keep tour costs as low as possible, we do not accept credit cards. Late payments or returned checks will incur a fee. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call, or have your parents contact us. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your tour brochure for more information.

What do I do if I need to need to cancel my child from a tour?

All cancellations must be in writing (letter, email or fax). The post-mark or date stamp will be considered the valid date of cancellation. After enrollment, if a student should decide to cancel, the following penalties will apply. Penalties outlined below are in addition to any airfare penalties. Any eligible refund will be processed only after receipt of the written notice of cancellation and may take up to 15 business days to process.

What does my child need to do to apply for a CETA Tours scholarship?

Lending A Helping Hand to Students
Every year, CETA Tours awards a total of five (5) scholarships in the amount of $500 each to students participating on a CETA Tour based on their need. Application packets are available to download or on our website.
