Travel Insurance Information

Travel Insurance

CETA Tours highly recommends purchasing travel insurance to protect your travel investment. Consider the following to determine which plan is best for your situation.

  • Contact your medical insurance provider for information about coverage while traveling abroad.
  • It is the responsibility of each traveler to determine whether they are covered by medical insurance. (Medicare and Medicaid do not offer coverage for international travel.)
  • As required by CETA Tours, travelers without medical insurance coverage must purchase temporary coverage for the duration of the tour.

Travel Guard's policies provide coverage for:

  • Trip Cancellation or Interruption for sickness (including if insured contracts COVID-19), injury or death of a traveler or a close relative; inclement weather, military service (refer to Travel Guard materials for more details)
  • Trip Delay
  • Lost/delayed baggage
  • Accident, sickness, medical expenses for the duration of the tour (including if insured contracts COVID-19 during the tour)
  • Emergency Evacuation

Pre-Existing Medical Condition Waiver

This waiver provides cancellation and medical coverage for pre-existing conditions

  • A pre-existing condition is a medical condition for which the traveler has been treated or seen by a doctor in the last 180 days prior to purchasing the insurance.
  • This coverage is only available with certain plans.
  • To get this coverage, the insurance must be purchased within 15 days of when CETA Tours processes the traveler's application and deposit.

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)

  • This additional coverage reimburses up to 50% of the insured trip cost as shown on the Schedule of Benefits if you cancel your Trip for any reason, up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure.
  • This is the only coverage currently available that will cover for cancellation due to fear of and/or changes in travel regulations associated with COVID-19.
  • This coverage is only available with certain plans.
  • CFAR upgrades must be purchased within 15 days of the date the tour deposit is received by CETA Tours. CFAR coverage is not needed if cancellation is due to the insured contracting COVID-19, as that is covered the same as other illnesses.
